To help you plan a perfect trip, I’ve collected a list of the most beautiful natural landmarks and unique historical sights that you can see in Norway according to over a dozen travel bloggers.

Get to know a list of 10 Most Amazing Places in Norway you should visit this year!

Trondheim

One of the most beautiful places in Norway is a town of Trondheim. This town is the third largest in Norway. It has a whole list of great places to visit and things to do.

One of its main attractions in the Nidaros cathedral, an old Gothic cathedral built in 11th century on the burial place of a king of Norway, Olav II.

Sognefjord

Not a secret is that probably the main reason why tourists visit Norway are its fjords. There is a lot of them here. The longest one, and perhaps the most beautiful in Norway is Sognefjord.

Waterfalls Valley

Another beautiful place in Norway that I recommend visiting is the Waterfalls Valley how the tourists call it. The official name is Husedalen Valley.

This place is less known among tourists than most other beautiful places in Norway from this list, but is no less beautiful!

You should definitely try this hike in the Hardangervidda National Park with numerous beautiful waterfalls on the way and a great view of the valley in the end.

Just take into account that the difficulty is relatively high, so the place is not suitable for everyone.

North Cape
Isn’t it exciting to stand on the cliff of the northern point of Europe? Of course, it is. Standing here, you feel like it’s the end of the world. Unforgettable feeling that you cannot experience in many places.

You just need to know that because Norway is a very long country, the distance from Oslo on the South to the North Cape is over 1500 km.

The closest airport is Hammerfest. International airlines don’t fly there, so you need to plan your trip to the northern point of Europe in advance, and getting to this beautiful place in Norway can be expensive.

Jostedalsbreen Glacier

The next spot from the list of the most beautiful places in Norway is the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. Because Norway is a Nordic country, there are many glaciers on its territory, about 1600.

Jostedalsbreen Glacier is the largest in Norway and even entire Europe! It covers an area of 487 square kilometers. It has also over 50 glacier branches.

The ski season lasts from November to May on Jostedalsbreen. If you are up for the challenge then don’t forget to visit there without your top snowboard boots.

The glacier is also a part of the Jostedalsbreen National Park. Walk on it and take some great pictures of this beautiful place in Norway!

Just try not to come here when there is still snow on it, otherwise, you won’t see the glacier under the snow blanket.

Fantoft Stave Church

One of the several beautiful stave churches left in Norway until our days is the Fantoft Stave Church located in the Fana borough in Bergen.

We wouldn’t be able to see this beautiful church today if a businessman from Bergen didn’t buy it and rebuild it in his hometown (it was formerly located 250 km away from Bergen).

In the 19th century, due to hard economic conditions, there was no money to restore it, people started taking falling planks to their farms, so later the businessman Fredrik Georg Gade decided to preserve the beautiful church and rebuild it in Bergen.

Røros
Røros is one of the oldest towns of wooden buildings in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated on the Swedish border. Places to visit include its church (the only one), its museum (the only one), and Slegghaugan big slag heaps.

But the most beautiful is hidden beyond the town. Walk in the Femundsmarka National Park and Rogen lake to enjoy the beautiful Norwegian nature.

Lofoten Islands
Lofoten islands are located on the north of Norway and are great for fishing and enjoying the natural beauty.

This is without a doubt one of the best and most beautiful places in Norway. Rent a boat or sit on the shore enjoying the northern lights and the never-setting sun in summer. Gorgeous!
