Exposed: Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel blamed for Russia's Attack on Ukraine and Georgia!

The Defense Minister of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, has accused former German Chancellor Angela Merkel of playing a significant role in preventing Ukraine and Georgia's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance back in 2008. In an interview with the Spanish newspaper La Razon, Reznikov blamed Merkel for giving Russia an opportunity to attack the two countries.

Reznikov stated that during the 2008 NATO summit in Bucharest, there was a real possibility of Ukraine and Georgia becoming members of the Alliance. However, Merkel opposed this, which ultimately led to the invasion and occupation of part of Georgia, the occupation of Crimea, and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. He further added that Merkel's doctrine of not provoking Russia was responsible for the explosions in warehouses in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria and the poisoning in Salisbury.

Despite his criticism of Merkel, Reznikov is "satisfied" with Germany's current level of assistance. He said it took a lot of work to convince Germany to be bolder, but they eventually did. Reznikov understands their reasons, as Germany became a pacifist country after the Nuremberg trials. He hopes that Russia will undergo a similar change after Nuremberg-2 takes place, and war criminals are convicted.

Germany and France blocked Ukraine and Georgia from submitting a NATO membership action plan at the 2008 NATO Bucharest Summit, fearing escalation by Russia. Since then, the Alliance has only promised accession to both countries "one day". Merkel, however, refused to acknowledge that her decision back then could have been one of the causes of Russian aggression, despite Reznikov's accusations.
