US M2 Bradley armoured vehicles have arrived in Ukraine and are already participating in combat operations, according to European Pravda and Pentagon spokesman Charlie Dietz, who confirmed this on Tuesday.
The Bradley is an armoured combat vehicle that transports infantry in the combat zone and provides supporting fire.
This is the first official confirmation of the arrival of the BMPs in Ukraine by the US. Prior to this, photos of the equipment being used in Ukrainian battles had appeared on social media.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine had also published pictures of some Bradleys on Monday. It is unclear how many of the promised 113 vehicles have arrived in Ukraine, as Dietz did not specify the number or when they arrived.
The US military has been training Ukrainian personnel to operate and maintain the Bradley fighting vehicle at the German Grafenwöhr training ground since February of this year.
In the same month, a commercial cargo ship with over 60 vehicles destined for Ukraine arrived in Germany.
