Zelenskyy's Bold Claim: UKR Troops Proximity to Crimean Border Will Weaken Putin's Backing in Russia

In a recent interview with Italian media (CNN citing the latter), President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his confidence that as the Ukrainian counteroffensive progresses, Russian society and the business community will put pressure on President Vladimir Putin to find a way out of the ongoing conflict.

Zelenskyy believes that the support for Putin in Russian society will decrease as the Ukrainian forces push back the Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine.

As a result, Putin will face internal issues and will have to find certain steps to resolve the situation. Zelenskyy is optimistic that the Ukrainian counteroffensive will gain momentum and that their motivation will only increase.

Additionally, Zelenskyy plans to organize a summit on their "peace formula," which will attract the maximum number of people, specialists, and countries to develop a clear plan of implementation. He believes that some of the points of the plan can be implemented without representatives of Russia, while others will require their participation.

Furthermore, Zelenskyy predicts that Putin's domestic support will be further reduced once the Ukrainian forces are on the administrative borders of Crimea.

He thinks that Putin's inner circle and business community will put pressure on him to find a way out of the conflict, and they will have to find a solution soon as there is not much time left.

Regarding Putin's potential use of nuclear weapons, Zelenskyy stated that he does not believe Putin will resort to such measures as he wants to live.

However, he acknowledges that no one knows what is in Putin's head. Zelenskyy believes that Putin will use the same information tools that he used before, and will explain to his society that he has defeated someone and the operation was complete.

Despite the challenges, Zelenskyy is optimistic that a diplomatic solution can be found if Putin agrees to leave all Ukrainian territories. He believes that continued pressure on Putin through both military and economic means will eventually lead to a resolution of the conflict with fewer casualties.
