Daring Gunmen Launch Deadly Assault on Police Station in Delta: ASP Slain, Others Injured

In line with the news report from the Vanguard; A group of unidentified gunmen recently attacked the Isiokolo Divisional Headquarters in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. 
The incident resulted in the unfortunate killing of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Obasanya Samuel, while ASP Robinson Irobo sustained an injury to his left hand. Police Constable Chukwudi Abanu, who was also present, managed to escape unharmed.

 This incident marks another tragic event, adding to the series of attacks on law enforcement officers in Delta State, with over eight officers being killed in the Ughelli North and Isoko South local government areas within a three-month period. The assailants, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on the officers stationed at the gate of the police station before fleeing the scene. 

ASP Obasanya Samuel was declared deceased upon arrival at Isiokolo General Hospital, whereas ASP Robinson Irobo is currently undergoing medical treatment. In response to the incident, Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wale Abass, has deployed a team of security personnel to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators.

 The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident, describing it as a drive-by shooting and assuring that efforts are being made to track down the suspects.
