Kidnappers Free Pastor's Wife in Kwara State, Nigeria; Unexpectedly Abduct Messenger Sent with Ransom

In line with the news report from the Vanguard,; In a surprising turn of events, the abductors of Mrs. Bola Ajiboye, the wife of Pastor Johnson Ajiboye from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Kwara State, have released her. However, the situation has taken a new twist as they have now kidnapped the man who was dispatched to deliver the ransom.

Having secured the release of their victim upon receiving a ransom of N1 million, along with food items, the kidnappers have now demanded an additional N5 million from the community to set free the messenger who delivered the initial payment. The incident occurred in Elerinjare community, Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state, where Mrs. Ajiboye was abducted during a nighttime attack.

An anonymous elder from the community expressed concern over the distressing situation, highlighting the fear that has gripped the residents due to the recent surge in kidnappings. The elder disclosed that Mrs. Ajiboye has been moved to a private facility in the community to recuperate. The messenger who delivered the ransom, however, was apprehended by the kidnappers.

As the community grapples with the escalating ransom demands, the local elder pointed out the challenges of raising such a substantial sum and expressed uncertainty about their ability to meet the kidnappers' demand.

The abduction of Mrs. Ajiboye occurred around 9pm in Elerinjare village, near Idofian town, and involved sporadic gunshots. During the incident, one of her daughters narrowly escaped, while another individual sustained a gunshot injury.

When reached for comment, the spokesperson of the State police command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, stated that he had not yet been briefed on the latest developments in the case.
