Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, Reacts Strongly to the Brutal Murder of LP Chieftain, Orders Thorough Investigation

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Mr. Maduka Zakari, a prominent member of the Labour Party.

Mr. Zakari, a 70-year-old chieftain of the LP, tragically lost his life on Wednesday, September 13, in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the state, in a gruesome act perpetrated by unidentified assailants. The assailants not only shot him at a drinking establishment in Amelechi Akpukpa community but also dragged him on the ground before ultimately beheading him and taking his head.

In response to this horrific incident, Governor Otti, through a statement issued by Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, expressed deep shock and outrage at the senseless, barbaric, and vicious nature of Mr. Zakari's murder.

Governor Otti called upon the various security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation, apprehend those responsible for the heinous crime, and ensure they face the full weight of the law for their ungodly actions.

The governor also expressed his profound sadness over the loss of Mr. Zakari, who had distinguished himself as the Labour Party campaign manager in Uturu during the last general election.

Furthermore, Governor Otti pledged the government's unwavering support to Mr. Zakari's family during this trying time, providing them with all the necessary assistance they may require as they cope with this tragic loss.
