In line with the news report from CNN; they reported that the Israeli Defense Forces reported the arrest of five individuals suspected of terrorism in the West Bank on Monday night.
Collaborating with the Shin Bet and Israel Border Police, four wanted individuals were apprehended in Silwad, while another was captured in Deir Sammit. The arrest in Deir Sammit yielded a pistol, two magazines, and nearly 150 9mm cartridges.
Additionally, Israeli forces conducted operations in Al-Bireh, where they encountered stone-throwing incidents. The IDF responded to these incidents with anti-riot measures.
These actions are part of a broader series of counterterrorism operations conducted by Israeli forces in the West Bank, taking place during the High Holy Days when security alertness is particularly heightened.
To ensure the safety of the public during this period, Police Chief Kobi Shabtai has instructed the Israel Police and Border Police to remain vigilant. He emphasized the importance of not being deceived by apparent calm, as security situations can change rapidly.
Shabtai commended the successful prevention of hostile sabotage attacks during Yom Kippur, attributing this achievement to the readiness and preparedness of the security forces, including the IDF and Shin Bet. However, he also highlighted that they remain on high alert throughout the Tishrei holidays due to numerous warnings and indications of potential attacks.
