Nigerian National Apprehended in India on Accusations of Sheltering International S€x Trafficking Fugitive

Anjuna Police in Goa, India, have successfully detained a Nigerian national accused of harboring a fugitive involved in an international sex trafficking ring.

The primary suspect, known as Olokpa, had been evading law enforcement efforts, prompting a determined pursuit to locate and apprehend him.

The arrested individual, identified as 32-year-old Charles Aihun, was discovered at the same locations where the fugitive Olokpa had been residing, as confirmed by the police on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Investigations revealed that Charles had been actively assisting Olokpa by providing information about the movements of the Goa Police team in Bengaluru, facilitating Olokpa's evasion of capture.

Despite two separate attempts by the Goa Police team to locate Olokpa, he managed to elude capture on both occasions. However, the persistent efforts of law enforcement eventually led them to Charles Aihun in Bengaluru.

Charles Aihun has been formally arrested by the Anjuna Police under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 370, 370 (A), 370(3), 212 r/w 34, in addition to Section 4, 5, and 8 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

He has been remanded to police custody for a period of five days as the investigation into this international sex trafficking racket continues.

The police have stated, "The Goa Police, in collaboration with local authorities, remain committed to bringing all those involved in this illicit activity to justice, with a particular focus on locating and apprehending the fugitive Olokpa. Further developments in this case are anticipated as the investigation unfolds."
