Swiss Club FC Sion Terminates Contract with Footballer Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli's tenure with Swiss club Sion has reportedly come to an end after just a single season.

The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker found himself training alone at the beginning of this season following Sion's relegation. Despite his prior accomplishments of scoring six goals in 19 games during the last season, Balotelli and the club have mutually terminated his contract.
Christian Constantin, Sion's president, stated, 'Everything was resolved in a very courteous way with Mario. The document we have prepared is now in the hands of our lawyers who will have to formalize it.'

Now a free agent, the 33-year-old is speculated to potentially rejoin his former club, Adana Demirspor, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport.

Adana Demirspor, under the management of Vincenzo Montella, finished fourth in the Turkish Super Lig last season and inaugurated a new stadium in 2021.

Balotelli's initial move to Adana Demirspor in the summer of 2021 proved successful, as he netted 19 goals, contributing to the club's impressive top-half finish in their first season back in the top flight. However, his departure for Sion marked the beginning of a challenging campaign for the Swiss club, resulting in their relegation after 17 seasons in the Swiss Super League.
