President Tinubu also highlighted Oracle's success in automating the Lagos State payroll system during his tenure as Lagos State Governor and praised the positive impact of technology in enhancing accountability and expediting service delivery without compromising quality.
He stated, "We can only build our institutions with accurate data and cutting-edge data management capabilities. The transfer of knowledge is essential for our nation, and we believe in a bottom-up approach to building our country."
President Tinubu expressed concern about the large civil service payroll in Nigeria, both at the national and sub-national levels, and emphasized the need for technological controls to manage transaction processes effectively.
In response, Oracle's Global Vice President proposed a comprehensive digital transformation of federal-level administration processes to achieve macro-economic visibility, streamline government operations for cost and time savings, and provide skills development opportunities for Nigerians. Oracle offered to conduct a free national diagnostic of the public service to determine the required solutions across various sectors.
