Hezbollah released a video claiming an attack on the Biranit barracks near the Lebanon-Israel border, targeting the Israeli military’s northern division command center. The footage displayed an aerial view of the strike on what was identified as a gathering of soldiers.
According to Conricus during a video briefing, Hezbollah has been specifically targeting military positions in Mount Dov, a contested area known as Shebaa Farms in Lebanon.
He emphasized the gravity of Hezbollah's actions, stating that they are engaging in a highly perilous game. Conricus also urged Lebanon to consider the potential cost, questioning whether the Lebanese state is willing to jeopardize its remaining prosperity and sovereignty for the sake of supporting groups in Gaza.
The international community, along with Lebanese authorities, are working to prevent Lebanon, already facing economic challenges, from being drawn into a new conflict.
Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has not yet commented on the current Hamas-Israel war. However, other officials within the organization have spoken on the matter. Hezbollah legislator Hassan Fadlallah explained that Nasrallah's silence is part of a strategic approach to dissuade Israel from escalating tensions in Lebanon and to hinder their objectives in Gaza.
Fadlallah emphasized that when the time is right, Nasrallah will address the public, aligning his statement with prevailing public sentiment.
