In a recent revelation, researcher Adeniyi Kunnu has leveled allegations against the suspended Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Betta Edu, claiming she played an active role as a commissioner under former Cross River state Governor, Ben Ayade.
Kunnu criticized Edu for not taking responsibility in the face of these allegations, highlighting the need for cautious statements to avoid complicating the situation further.
During an interview with Channels TV, Kunnu expressed his concern, stating, "The person who errs right now happens to be Mrs. Betta Edu. So the first thing I had expected her to have done was to say, I gave room for this entrapment."
He emphasized the importance of anticipating potential entrapments and pitfalls, suggesting that political enemies or discontent from predecessors might be influencing the situation.
Furthermore, Kunnu urged Edu to appoint advisers who can think critically and analyze situations objectively. "When people appoint special advisers into offices, they have to be those who think out of the box," he remarked.
Finally, The researcher emphasized the significance of Edu admitting any lapses and taking responsibility for her actions, considering the expectations and demands of her office.
