According to the report from Reuters, in a significant development, residents of Sheikh Radwan district in Gaza City, the northern focal point of Israel's offensive, reported the withdrawal of tanks after what they described as the most intense 10 days of warfare since the conflict began.
Nasser, a father of seven residing in Sheikh Radwan, expressed the challenging conditions during the conflict, stating, "The tanks were very near. We could see them outside the houses. We couldn't get out to fill water."
The reported withdrawal of tanks also extended to Gaza City's al-Mina district and parts of the Tel al-Hawa district. However, some positions were retained in the suburb controlling the enclave's main coastal road.
Despite these shifts, the situation remains complex, with tanks reportedly staying in other parts of northern Gaza.
Concurrently, fighting in central areas of the enclave persists, as residents cite ongoing shelling by tanks in parts of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
On Monday, Hamas' armed wing claimed responsibility for an attack that resulted in the alleged killing of 15 Israeli soldiers. The attack was triggered by an explosive minefield east of the Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City.
While the withdrawal of tanks in certain districts brings a sense of relief to residents, the overall conflict continues, with ongoing fighting and strategic moves by both sides.
Notably, Hamas demonstrated its continued ability to target Israel after more than 12 weeks of war, launching a barrage of rocket fire at Tel Aviv. The situation remains dynamic, and residents brace for further developments as the conflict in Gaza unfolds.
