In a shocking revelation amid the BBC's investigation into the late Nigerian pastor TB Joshua's death, a South African woman named Mrs. Sonny has come forward, disclosing the messages she received from the pastor after her daughter tragically lost her life in the collapse of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) guest house in 2014.
Recalling the devastating incident, Mrs. Sonny shared that her daughter, Sibingile, was among the 115 casualties, 84 of whom were worshippers from South Africa.
Sibingile had attended the Synagogue church for the first time after watching TB Joshua on television.
In an exclusive interview, Mrs. Sonny revealed that the church withheld crucial information about her daughter's death for several days, despite her persistent inquiries.
It was only five days later that she received confirmation from the church regarding her daughter's tragic fate.
As part of the aftermath, TB Joshua's representatives brought money to offer solace to the grieving mother. However, Mrs. Sonny and her family declined the financial assistance. This refusal allegedly triggered threats from TB Joshua himself.
"He started threatening us," Mrs. Sonny recounted. "If you don't take the money, your daughter won't be happy," he allegedly warned.
In the messages received, TB Joshua purportedly stated, "If you dwell on your losses, you could lose everything," and went further to threaten bringing down her entire family in a similar manner as her daughter.
